Waves produced by a seismic source (such as explosives, vibrators, or air guns) pass through the subsurface and bounce off geological borders. Downhole geophones positioned at various depths within the well record these waves. The velocity, reflectivity, and structure of the subsurface formations are all precisely shown by the recorded signals. Different VSP Survey Types Depending on the source and receiver settings, VSP can be divided into several types: 1. What is Nodal Analysis? By dividing the well and surface production system into nodes. Nodal analysis allows for the analysis of pressure and flow rate. Usually, these nodes consist of: Reservoir Node: Measures the fluid deliverability and pressure of the reservoir. Bottomhole Node: The point at which reservoir fluids enter the wellbore is known as the bottomhole node. Wellhead Node: The pressure and flowrate at the surface are represented by the wellhead node. Separator Node: The pressure at the surface of the separation mechanism is expressed by the separator node.
